TEACHING RESOURCES

We have been providing solutions for practitioners by developing teaching resources that incorporate robotics into science and mathematics subject matter knowledge. These resources have been tested and published in well-known, reputable journals. Some typical examples are presented below.

An Earthquake Early Warning System

One task involved designing an earthquake early warning system using Arduino technology. The science knowledge integrated into this project included the structure of the Earth's crust, causes of seismic activity, identifying epicenter points, methods for measuring magnitude and intensity, mechanical waves, seismic waves, and S- and P-waves. The mathematics knowledge covered ratio, proportion, and proportional reasoning. The robotics knowledge included using a vibration sensor, breadboard, cables, a piezo buzzer, programming, and testing a robotic vehicle.
